Survey on digital literacy for Seattle community technology programs

Washington's Community Technology Opportunity Program provides an opportunity for community technology centers to focus on providing digital literacy training to the communities they serve. To enhance this statewide program, Reclaim the Media is working on a digital media literacy curriculum and training program with local community technology centers like yours in mind.

We've been most interested in how the web can enhance community action and civic engagement through citizen media production and social media, equipping people with everyday skills for using the web and aiding them in creating meaningful change in their communities. That's we're looking to engage community technology center staff in a conversation about what this curriculum should look like. We want to make sure we're responding to actual community needs, so your advice is pivotal in creating effective materials.

We'll be contacting CTCs individually, but if you don't have time for that, we hope you would be willing to participate in this brief (ten minute) survey about who uses your facilities, what they use them for, and what types of training would enhance training programs you already have in place. Thank you for your support.
